Robbery May 1 — A male cab driver reported at about 11:30 p.m. that while driving his cab on the 3600 block of Market Street, someone displayed a handgun and attempted to forcibly take his vehicle. Assault May 2 — A 16-year-old boy unaffiliated with Penn reported at about 9 p.m. 11/10/09 7:20pm

College student Neil Gajare charged with arson
College student Neil Gajare, has been arrested and charged with arson in connection with a fire in Rodin College House early yesterday morning. Police were still processing Gajare's case last night, and it was unclear whether he would be released on bail, according to the Philadelphia Police. 04/22/09 5:00am

Online Update: Classes still on, but some events canceled due to weather

SHS: Preventative prophylactic treatment no longer necessary
Feb. 18, 1:56 p.m. Preventative antibiotics for meningococcal infection are no longer necessary, the University said in a statement released this afternoon. After third student with meningitis-like infection, 2,000 get preventative treatment
Updated Feb. 14, 6:54 p.m. About 2,000 people -- a quarter of the undergraduate student body -- have received prophylactic medication so far after a third Penn student was hospitalized for a meningococcal infection, according to University spokeswoman Phyllis Holtzman. A 21-year-old man, unaffiliated with the University, will face charges after allegedly lying to police about being the victim of a shooting. As police continue their investigation of Engineering sophomore Ryan Smith's fall from the Quadrangle this weekend, Smith's family and friends say they do not believe the incident was a suicide attempt. College senior found dead outside nightclub near Festival Pier
The body of Kambili Moukwa, 22-year old College senior, was found outside a nightclub near the Festival Pier by Penn's Landing this afternoon, according to Vice President for Public Safety Maureen Rush. The manner and cause of his death are not yet determined, and an investigation is being conducted by the Philadelphia medical examiner's office, University spokeswoman Lori Doyle said. 12/09/08 5:00am
