Sebastien Angel | Leave cutting class to students

Professors cancel today's classes because of absences, but that's not their choice to make - we're footing the bill.

Gabe Oppenheim | Can you tell Amy Gutmann from Goldie Hawn?

Editorial | Why are we still here?

University should finally cancel classes on the day before Thanksgiving.

Editorial | Putting PR above safety

The Division of Public Safety - which is charged with protecting Penn students, staff and the local community - is making you less safe. Officers are making the same patrols and staff levels are not being reduced, but the department has suddenly decided it will withhold certain crime information.

Editorial | Good for him, not the city

Philadelphia deserves a full-time congressman.

Letters to the Editor

Misplaced loyalty To the Editor: Adam Cohen's column ("The future is bright for a Democratic America," DP, 11/16/06) is laced with the same brand of ignorance and partisan rhetoric that permeates contemporary politics in America. First, he lists recent ethics scandals - interestingly omitting Democratic ones.

Sarah Rothman | Phila. elephants find a better place to roam

Do you remember the first time you saw an elephant? Nah, me either. But if we were elephants we might remember. The old saying about having a memory like an elephant's isn't a myth. Science agrees that elephants build up a memory of each other over time. The oldest members of the group can indicate to the others whether a newcomer is friendly or not.

Ali Jackson | The only time stalking should come naturally

There are 11 Penn freshmen who think I'm stalking them. And I'll be honest - I kind of am. Over the summer, I sent each of them no fewer than 12 e-mails and then called all the ones who didn't respond. Since school started, I've contacted them about five times each and even hung around their dorms during New Student Orientation.

Editorial | No place on campus

Murals have a place in Philadelphia and near Penn, but not in the core of campus.

Guest Opinion | Profs should post syllabi online

Access to online syllabi will allow students to make informed decisions before enrolling - it just takes a little effort from profs.
