This election does matter as it represents the continuation of Germany being the clear leader among liberal Western democracies, in a time when many countries are shifting significantly towards nationalism and authoritarianism.
By shifting its focus from sexual assault to alcohol abuse and hazing, the administration has unfortunately redirected our attention away from the issue that matters most.

Like many other students at Penn, I came back to campus 3 weeks ago with little to no knowledge of the newly instated policy that all “student group events” held on-campus, off-campus, or at third-party venues must now be registered with the AOD regardless of whether or not alcohol is present.
If we continue to major shame on a larger scale, we’ll most likely study subjects we don’t care for and will perform poorly in our studies. If we don’t enjoy what we’re doing, it will be much harder for us to succeed in the long run.
Being in a single is not the most luxurious experience in the world. There are many perks to having your own space, but the social drawbacks are much more impactful.
