The Stuart Weitzman School of Design recently announced that it will award Chinese architect Lin Huiyin a posthumous Bachelor of Architecture diploma in May 2024. This decision was made after a careful investigation initiated by Fritz Steiner, the Weitzman School Dean, in 2022.

Not since the “Water Buffalo” incident in 1993 has the Penn campus been roiled by the kind of polarization we’ve seen over the past month. Penn’s commitment to free speech is once again in question, and once again there are calls for Penn’s president to step down. From the buildup to the Palestine Writes Literature Festival (PWLF), held from Sept. 22 to 24, to the series of rallies and marches in response to the Hamas massacres in Israel on Oct. 7 and the ensuing Israeli attack on Gaza, Penn students and faculty have been debating and arguing. Some have stopped speaking to each other. Fear and anger are in the air – along with shock, hurt, and mistrust.

After finishing the fall season 11th out of 13 at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, Penn men’s golf hopes to improve during the offseason, aided by a promising young star, freshman Hayden Adams. In two of the final three tournaments, Adams carded team-low scores, placing 13th of 78 at the Temple Invitational and 35th of 74 during the Georgetown Intercollegiate. In the most recent "Sports Illustrated" rankings of the top high school football teams, schools from Texas occupied three of the top ten spots. The Lone Star State also has multiple high school stadiums costing over $50 million and 70 four-and-five star recruits in the class of 2024. Calling Texas the world capital of high school football would not be a ridiculous claim.
