
As spring break approaches, here’s what you need to know about housing, dining, and facility availability on campus.
Penn's spring break begins on March 8 and runs through March 16, with various campus facilities operating on reduced hours. The Daily Pennsylvanian compiled a list of changes to regular operations for campus facilities.
Dining
Dining halls, including 1920 Commons, Falk Dining Commons in Steinhardt Hall, Lauder College House, Hill House, and Quaker Kitchen, will be closed until regular hours resume on March 17. Lauder College House and 1920 Commons will serve dinner on March 16 at 5 p.m..
English House will offer brunch and dinner from March 8 to March 16. Brunch will start at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m., followed by dinner services from 5 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m.
Pret a Manger, located on Locust Walk, will be open for select hours during the break, specifically 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from March 10 to March 13, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 14. It will be closed on March 15 and March 16.
Houston Market will be closed from March 8 to March 15 and will resume operations on March 16, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Starbucks will re-open to students on March 16 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Housing
Unlike during winter break, College Houses will remain open throughout spring break.
The two Mail and Package Centers on campus, located in Hill and Harnwell College houses, will remain open with standard operational hours throughout the break.
Libraries
According to the Penn Libraries website, several on-campus library facilities will adjust their hours of operation during spring break.
The Annenberg School for Communication Library, Center for Global Collections, Van Pelt Library, Goldstein Undergraduate Center, and Weigle Information Commons will have shortened hours during break.
Health and Fitness
The Fox Fitness Center will be closed from March 8 until March 16.
Pottruck Health and Fitness Center will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. from March 10 until March 14 and from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on March 15. On March 16, Pottruck will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Wellness at Penn's offices will also operate on reduced hours during break.
