Happy Wednesday! As the season shifts, let’s spring into today’s stories.

The Daily Pennsylvanian spoke with several cultural groups about the future of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Penn, and the School of Arts and Sciences graduate student government passed a unanimous resolution supporting fair bargaining negotiations between the graduate student union and the University.

But first, Penn issued a University-wide statement providing guidance to Penns international community on recent immigration policies, including potential travel bans and visa revocations.

Penn advises University community on recent immigration policies 

Penn issued guidance about potential travel bans, on-campus Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity, and visa revocations in an email to the University community on Tuesday.

The March 18 message from Provost John Jackson Jr. and Vice Provost for Global Initiatives Ezekiel Emanuel reaffirmed Penn’s commitment to supporting international students, scholars, faculty, and staff amid evolving immigration policies. The email issued recommendations to impacted individuals that included avoiding non-essential travel and seeking guidance from campus and legal resources, among other actions.

“We know that recent policy changes and actions related to immigration, visas, and travel are causing uncertainty and anxiety for many members of the Penn community,” the email read.

  Several cultural groups shared their views on the future of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Penn after releasing a joint statement urging University action.  
 School of Arts and Sciences graduate student government unanimously passed a resolution calling for fair bargaining negotiations between GET-UP and the University.

  Kathryn Griffo was named as Penn’s new vice president for Development and Alumni Relations.

 Five Penn students and two recent graduates were named 2025 Thouron Scholars and received full funding to study in the United Kingdom.
