Happy Tuesday and go Birds! I hope you’re feeling energized and recovered from your Sunday night celebrations.

Speaking of, The Daily Pennsylvanian's photographers captured Super Bowl celebrations on Broad Street, and former Penn Board of Trustees Chair Scott Bok is set to release a new book about his experience working on Wall Street in May.

But first, Penn is expected to introduce major changes to its University-wide nondiscrimination and affirmative action policies.

Penn to eliminate term ‘diversity’ from University-wide nondiscrimination policies

Penn is set to introduce major changes to its existing nondiscrimination and affirmative action policies.

The changes follow an executive order from 1968 Wharton Graduate and President Donald Trump which mandates that federally funded universities such as Penn terminate DEI programs in violation of federal civil rights laws. In light of the order, Penn will rename the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs to the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and remove the words “diversity” and “affirmative action” from the policies.

A University spokesperson wrote to The Daily Pennsylvanian that Penn is “reviewing websites and programs to ensure they are consistent with our nondiscrimination policies and federal law.”

In 2018, the DP recapped exciting moments from the Eagles' Super Bowl Parade, including costumes and food trucks. This weekend, Penn students took to the streets to celebrate the Birds winning the big game on Sunday, and this year's parade will take place on Friday.
