Happy National Chocolate Cake Day! My name is Samantha, your Monday morning anchor for the rest of the semester. You’ll see my face as you start each joyous, amazing, wonderful week.

The Daily Pennsylvanian’s photographers captured the first events of the 30th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Symposium, and Wellness at Penn has been treating respiratory illnesses, including the cold and flu, as students return from break.

But first, Penn's Undergraduate Assembly passed a resolution calling on the University to formally disclose its investments.

UA passes resolution calling on University to disclose finances

Last night, Penn’s Undergraduate Assembly passed a resolution calling on the University to formally disclose its investments and initiate a review of its securities in external funds.

The resolution passed by a 15-6 vote at the UA's general board meeting, and it comes after months of increased discourse surrounding the disclosure of University finances. The resolution, which was obtained by the DP, is addressed to the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost, the University Board of Trustees, and Penn’s Office of Investments. 

A UA spokesperson wrote to the DP that they could not currently comment on the matter, but noted that the resolution was scheduled to be delivered to College Hall this morning.

  Wellness at Penn has been treating respiratory illnesses such as the cold and flu amid a return to pre-COVID-19 levels of winter sickness among students.

In 2015, the DP reported that the Penn fencing team swept the Philadelphia Invitational. Last weekend, the Penn men’s fencing team came out with nine victories at this year’s Philadelphia Invitational, winning 14-13 against nationally ranked Notre Dame.
