Happy National Rhubarb Pie Day, Penn! As the temperatures on campus take a flaky turn below freezing, don’t let the cold crumble your spirits. Stay warm, bundle up, and treat yourself to something sweet to keep the cold away!

The peer counseling group Penn Benjamins has announced new wellness events for this semester, and the Graduate School of Education will welcome its first cohort of students in an education-focused AI master's degree program this fall.

But first, The Daily Pennsylvanian spoke with Penn health care experts and Philadelphia-area abortion providers about what abortion rights might look like during 1968 Wharton graduate and President Donald Trump’s second term in office.

Trump's return sparks uncertainty in abortion and reproductive rights

As uncertainty and concerns over the reproductive rights and abortion access rise after Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, the DP spoke with Philadelphia health care experts about what the next four years may hold.

“There were really blatantly false things said by the Trump campaign and during the debates, and I think that also increases this risk of harm to providers,” obstetrician-gynecologist Sarah Gutman told the DP.

Similar concerns were previously voiced by the Penn community when the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade in July 2022.

In 2004, Penn's Board of Trustees nominated Amy Gutmann as the University's eighth president, concluding their six-month search. This semester, Interim Penn President Larry Jameson, who will remain in his role until 2026, welcomed students back to campus in an email emphasizing the value of higher education.
