Penn football kickers Albert Jang and Santiago Sturla sat down with DPOSTM to talk about their love for kicking and how they hope to contribute to the team's journey to top the Ancient Eight. Unfortunately, the Quakers got off to a rough start as Penn football was felled by Dartmouth in the conference opener.

Dominant Dartmouth defense derails Penn football in 20-17 Ivy-opening defeat

Outside of a pair of touchdowns from sophomore running back Malachi Hosley in the second quarter, Penn football struggled on offense as the Quakers fell to Dartmouth in the conference opener.

Penn senior heavyweight rower Sam Sullivan named U23 National Team Male Athlete of the Year

Senior heavyweight rower Sam Sullivan was voted on by his peers and coaches to be the Under-23 National Male Athlete of the Year. following his selection to represent Team USA this past August at the U23 World Championships.

MEN'S SOCCER
In his last season, Penn men's soccer defender Leo Burney has high hopes

The three-time first team All-Ivy defender has played every minute so far for Penn men's soccer this year, and has high hopes for the group heading into the thick of league play.

FOOTBALL (1-2, 0-1 Ivy) lost in its Ivy League opening game against Dartmouth despite sophomore running back Malachi Hosley breaking free for two touchdowns. [READ MORE]

MEN'S SOCCER (7-1-1, 2-0) continues to rack up the wins after picking up a 1-0 win against Harvard over the weekend. Despite the win, the Quakers slide to No. 25 in the national rankings. 

WOMEN'S SOCCER (1-6-4, 0-1-1) got its first positive result of Ivy League play with a come-from-behind 2-2 draw against Yale. [READ MORE]

VOLLEYBALL (8-5, 2-2) split its games this weekend, losing to Yale 3-1, but rebounding nicely with a sweep of Brown the next day. [READ MORE]
 
FIELD HOCKEY (2-8, 1-2) found its first win in Ancient Eight play this year following a 2-1 overtime win against Columbia. 
 
CROSS COUNTRY finished 10th out of 44 teams on the men's side and 14th out of 42 teams on the women's side at the Paul Short Run. In his season debut, senior Dylan Throop finished fourth in the 8K.

GOLF will see the men's team compete in the Hamptons Intercollegiate starting today. The women's team was inactive over the weekend.
 
STAT OF THE WEEK: Following Penn men's soccer's game against Harvard, the only two players who have played all 810 minutes are sophomore goalkeeper Phillip Falcon III and senior defender Leo Burney.
