As the election nears, Penn College Republicans and Penn Democrats hosted events with political candidates on and near campus last week, and a group unaffiliated with Penn has claimed responsibility for multiple acts of vandalism on campus.

Undergraduates overwhelmingly plan to vote for Harris

The DP’s anonymous survey, which polled over 900 students, found that a supermajority of undergraduates plan on voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Abortion was the most important issue to the Penn students surveyed, followed by “threats to democracy” and inflation.

Harris’ support is highest among students in the College and the School of Nursing, while 1968 Wharton graduate Donald Trump performs best among students in Wharton and the School of Engineering.

  A group that refers to itself as “Sinwar’s Stick” — and which denied any affiliation with Penn — claimed responsibility for three acts of vandalism on campus last week.

  A panel hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and several student groups emphasized the need for restorative justice regarding the damaging medical experiments conducted by the late Penn dermatologist Albert Kligman.

  The DP compiled a list of five new or interesting classes for students to consider taking in spring 2025.

  College Republicans hosted a discussion with Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick, and United States Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) joined Penn Dems at a tabling event last week.

  Friday night lights became Friday night frights for Penn football as it dropped its third-straight Ivy League game, this time to Yale.

  No. 20 Penn men’s soccer secured its spot in the Ivy League tournament following a 3-2 win over Dartmouth for coach Brian Gill's 50th career win.

The DP’s 2020 undergraduate voter survey found that 84% of respondents planned to vote for then-presidential candidate Joe Biden, compared to 10% that planned to vote for Trump. Student respondents selected social issues, the environment, and healthcare as the most important issues to them. Check out the results of the 2024 undergraduate voter survey here
