Happy Wednesday! After a busy day on campus yesterday for National Voter Registration Day, the lead-up to the presidential election is in full swing. 

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro appeared at a rally in support of reproductive freedom over the weekend, and Penn's School of Dental Medicine received a grant to support educational programming for people with disabilities. 

But first, The Daily Pennsylvanian spoke to members of Penn's political clubs about their plans for the fall semester.

Penn political clubs gear up for presidential election, share fall plans

As Pennsylvania gears up to play a critical role in the 2024 presidential election this November, political clubs on Penn's campus are setting their fall semester plans into motion. The DP spoke with representatives from Penn Democrats, Penn College Republicans, Penn Leads the Vote, the Government and Politics Association, and Penn for Liberty to hear about their goals for the next few months.

In 2020, the DP reported that then-vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris made a campaign stop in Philadelphia to meet with community members, including some from Penn. Harris — now the Democratic presidential nominee — visited Philadelphia again yesterday, and several public figures, including Gov. Josh Shapiro and Jack Schlossberg, have recently campaigned for her in the area and urged students to register to vote.
