The perks of a PennCard

There's no way around it: Penn is expensive. But there are still a few discounts and perks you receive simply by being a Penn student — and many of them are easy to miss, like an Amtrak discount. Read here for some of the ways you can get the most out of your PennCard over the next four years.

  It’s often said that some things only happen once in a lifetime. After this summer, Sports Associate Tyler Ringhofer can add experiencing the 2024 Paris Olympics in person to that coveted list. Here's his dispatch, with what might be the DP's first-ever Paris dateline.

President Joe Biden, a former Penn professor and founder of the Penn Biden Center, delivered a prime-time speech at the Democratic National Convention last night, symbolically passing the torch to Vice President Kamala Harris, the new Democratic nominee for president. 

The 50-year career that Biden walked through during his speech includes many well-known ties to Penn — but before that, Biden was a standout receiver in high school and played on the University of Delaware's freshman football team. In 2020, DP Sports examined his time as an athlete.
