The Daily Pennsylvanian spoke with Penn alumni, donors, and members of the campus Jewish community about the University's response to recent protests and activism, and Penn announced two new vice provost positions to help promote the University's strategic framework.
But first, the results of a 16-month investigation have yielded evidence supporting sexual abuse allegations made by filmmaker Jennifer Fox against former Penn rowing coach Ted Nash.
USRowing has stripped former Penn rowing coach Ted Nash of all honors after a non-legal investigation commissioned by the organization found evidence to support filmmaker Jennifer Fox’s sexual assault allegations against him.
In 2023, Fox came forward to name Nash, who coached rowing at Penn for nearly 20 years, as her abuser, alleging that he abused her when she was 13. After going public with Nash's name, Fox urged Penn to remove the name from the Coach Ted A. Nash Land Rowing Center — named for Nash to honor his prolific career — and the sign at the entrance to the rowing center was concealed two days later.
In light of the report’s findings, Fox has urged Penn once again to remove Nash’s name from the rowing center and to remove all Nash memorabilia from campus.
Amid ongoing discussions surrounding campus protests, Penn's Committee on Open Expression has called for a review of the Guidelines on Open Expression. Any updates to the guidelines would be the first since 1993.
Several prominent donors and Penn alumni have expressed displeasure with the University's response to the Gaza Solidarity Encampment and protests on campus.

In 2017, the DP reported that Penn's graduate student workers had filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to hold a formal election to unionize. Earlier this month, Graduate Employees Together — University of Pennsylvania officially voted to unionize by an overwhelming majority, forming the largest union at Penn in recent memory.
