My name is Chloe Norman, and I'll be your Thursday morning newsletter anchor for the rest of the semester! As we navigate through the hustle and bustle of midterms this week, I hope you can take a moment to enjoy spring's long-awaited arrival as cherry blossom trees start to bloom across Locust Walk.

Five medical schools in the Philadelphia area joined a Penn Medicine initiative to improve diversity within the medical industry, and the federal government allocated $158 million to reconnect Chinatown — which is currently severed by the Vine Street Expressway.

But first, Penn is investigating a pro-Palestinian student organization.

University investigating Penn Against the Occupation

The Center for Community Standards and Accountability is currently investigating Penn Against the Occupation — a pro-Palestinian student group — according to a source familiar with the matter.

PAO is not currently listed on the Penn Clubs website, and is not allowed to organize events in Penn-affiliated spaces until the investigation has concluded. 

"The privilege of being listed on the Penn Club website is a benefit of being an active registrant with the Office of Student Affairs," a University spokesperson told the DP.

  Penn received a record number of applications to join the Class of 2028 despite the administrative turmoil that plagued campus last fall.  

  Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker and Pennsylvania government officials secured $158 million in federal funding to help reconnect Chinatown's communities and neighborhoods divided by the Vine Street Expressway.

  A Penn Medicine initiative to improve diversity in its medical school and the physician workforce recently expanded to five other Philadelphia schools — including Temple and Drexel. 

  Wharton partnered with corporate training firm Wall Street Prep to offer new certification courses for students interested in exploring careers in business, marketing, and management.
