Good morning, Penn.


It's been a long week, and I am looking forward to putting my puffer back on the shelf during spring break.

A University Council open forum centered around topics such as donor influence and disciplinary action against students, and Penn has been named a top producer of Fulbright scholarship recipients. 

But first, students are concerned about the state of scooter thefts on campus, and many scooter owners are calling for increased security measures to be taken.

Students express concern with scooter thefts on campus

Some students are expressing discontent after 17 scooter thefts were reported between Jan. 1 and Feb. 2. 

Several students called for the implementation of secure outdoor storage services, as scooters are prohibited in residential buildings on campus. 

Penn's Division of Public Safety told The Daily Pennsylvanian that it is implementing new initiatives to address the issue, including a baiting program where they will plant scooters with AirTags in commonly stolen locations and then send officers to "stop the individual."
