Cloudline Physical Therapy recently opened its second Philadelphia location in University City at 138 S. 34th St.
Cloudline Physical Therapy was founded in 2020 by physical therapists Brian Kracyla and Adam Kessel. It currently offers services including post-surgery physical therapy, scoliosis treatment, and sports medicine treatment.
The new location is the practice’s second in Philadelphia, with the first practice being located at 239 S. 10th St. The University City location will be part of the Shop Penn Retail District, a collection of dining, retail, and stores for which Penn acts as the landlord.
Cloudline currently has six certified physical therapists. The practice emphasizes an individual care approach to physical therapy that is predicated on evidence-based and innovative methods.
“Cloudline Physical Therapy is very excited to be joining the neighborhood in University City. Opening our second location here was a logical and natural choice for us," Cloudline founder, owner, and physical therapist Brian Kracyla wrote in an email to The Daily Pennsylvanian. "We have spent years establishing relationships of trust and collaboration with the healthcare providers in this area and feel this provides a chance to progress our model of continuity of care."
In terms of having a location in University City, Kracyla went on to write that Cloudline "saw an opportunity to fill a void in the health-specific needs of students and those in academia.”
“Beyond the traditional orthopedic injuries (which we certainly do treat), we recognize a scarcity of treatment for the pain and conditions directly related to postural and overuse-type stressors associated with student life," Kraclya wrote. "Cloudline believes we can provide true value to this community and the immediate demand and support we’ve received so far has been welcomed."
Penn’s Executive Director of Real Estate Ed Datz said that it was important for Penn to diversify the offerings of the Shop Penn Retail District.
“We are happy to have Cloudline Physical Therapy join the Shop Penn retail as we continue to diversify the offerings in the district," Datz wrote in an email to the DP. "The addition of Cloudline will provide access to a variety of services and specialized care by physical therapists for members of the University and surrounding neighborhood to utilize."
