Democrats

Rick Krajewski

Krajewski, who graduated from Penn in 2013, was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2021. Before holding this position, he worked as a software engineer and volunteered teaching programming classes in West Philadelphia. He believes in protecting homeowners’ rights, upholding workers’ rights, improving the public school system, and implementing a Green New Deal for Pennsylvania.

James Wright

Wright is the director of Community, Economic, and Real Estate Development at the People’s Emergency Center.

“Opportunities for older and long-term residents in West and Southwest Philadelphia are slipping away,” Wright wrote in am emailed statement to The Daily Pennsylvanian. “The majority of residents in the district do not feel heard or considered. This has led to a sense of hopelessness. I want young people, black and white, to see their future here in the district and not somewhere else.”

He is in favor of improving public safety and fighting gun violence, increasing access to quality affordable housing, and increasing access to quality education.
