A robbery with a weapon was reported late Sunday evening, according to a UPenn Alert sent at 11:15 p.m.
The unaffiliated complainant reported being approached by the suspects, who displayed a handgun, stole a cell phone and money, and then fled, Division of Public Safety Director of Operations and External Affairs Kathleen Anderson wrote in an email to The Daily Pennsylvanian. Philadelphia and Penn Police responded to the assaults at about 11 p.m.
The suspects for the robbery are a male and a female, according to the alert. The male reportedly had a beard and wore all dark clothing. The female had braids and wore a green or gray hooded sweatshirt. The robbery took place on the 4300 block of Baltimore Avenue and the suspects were last seen heading north on 43rd Street.
An all-clear update was issued at 11:43 p.m. Police and security officers have increased patrols in the area as the investigation continues, Anderson wrote.
