Aggravated Assault:
August 24: An unknown suspect assaulted and injured the complainant at the intersection of 40th and Locust streets, at about 2:13 a.m.
Assault:
August 26: A security officer at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, located at the intersection of 34th and Spruce streets, reported that the suspect became combative, striking and spitting in the complainant's face. The 22-year-old unaffiliated male suspect, Michael Herbert, was arrested. The incident occurred at about 2:48 a.m.
August 28: An employee at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, located at 3400 Civic Center Blvd., reported that the suspect spit on her and struck the right side of her neck. The incident occurred at about 12:53 p.m.
Burglary:
August 25: The complainant reported that an unknown suspect entered his residence and removed a laptop from his room. The suspect dropped the laptop when fleeing the area, and it was recovered. The incident occurred on the 4000 block of Chancellor Street at about 2:20 p.m.
Disorderly Conduct:
August 23: The complainant reported that the suspect threw a water bottle from the parking garage at Fresh Grocer, located at the intersection of 40th and Walnut streets, in an attempt to hit him. The 19-year-old unaffiliated male suspect, Amir Joseph, was given a citation. The incident occurred at about 9:54 p.m.
Other Offense:
August 23: The suspect was stopped for investigation and found to be in possession of marijuana. The incident occurred on the 4000 block of Market Street at about 10:07 a.m. The 24-year-old unaffiliated male suspect, Darryl Lloyd, was given a citation.
Sex Offense:
August 23: A confidential case of sex offense was reported.
Bike Theft:
August 26: A bicycle worth more than $200 was reported stolen from the intersection of 42nd and Chestnut streets at about 7:30 p.m.
August 27: A bicycle was reported stolen on the 100 block of S. 40th Street at about 8:45 a.m.
Theft from Vehicle:
August 27: Items worth more than $200 were reported stolen from a car parked on Walnut Street near the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter at about 6 p.m.
Theft from Building:
August 24: A theft of more than $200 was reported at 3925 Pine St.
August 25: A theft of more than $200 was reported at Theos-3, located at 4033 Chancellor St., at about 10:00 p.m.
August 27: A theft was reported at Ludlow, located at 4100 Ludlow St. at about 3 p.m.
August 29: A theft of more than $200 was reported at the International House, located at 3701 Chestnut St., at about 10 p.m.
August 29: Items worth more than $200 were stolen from the School of Veterinary Medicine, located at the intersection of 38th and Spruce streets at about 3 p.m.
