Basketball fans got their hopes up for naught.
Citing concern for player safety, the Philadelphia 76ers have postponed tonight's Blue x White Scrimmage that was set to take place in the Palestra. The announcement came around 90 minutes before the scrimmage was scheduled to start, and about a half hour before the Palestra was set to open to the public.
The weather seems to be the cause for the announcement, as the Sixers released an email stating that the arena had been impacted by "weather-related issues."
The Sixers have not announced a make-up date for the scrimmage yet.
