An unidentified suspect entered a property at 40th and Pine Streets early Tuesday morning, said a representative for the Division of Public Safety, in an email.

A Penn student was working at home around 1:30 a.m. when an unknown suspect entered the property. The student screamed and the suspect left the scene.

According to the DPS, the suspect was described as a black male in his mid-40s. He was around 5-foot-6 or 5-foot-7, he had a scruffy beard, gray in his hair and wore a red shirt. He is still at large.

The incident prompted DPS to send out a UPennAlert at 2:06 a.m. which described it as a burglary. An all-clear message was sent out around 2:28 a.m.

DPS said that the Penn Police Department and AlliedBarton Security have increased their patrols in the area.
