According to reports from Politico and The Harvard Crimson, Harvard lecturer and resident dean of undergraduate residence, Dunster House, Carlos E. Díaz Rosillo will be serving as part of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team. He will serve under a former aide to former Vice President Dick Cheney, Ado Machida, on Trump’s “Policy Implementation” team, under the title of "executive authority adviser."
At Harvard, Díaz Rosillo teaches Government 1359, entitled “The Road to the White House”, which has discussed at length Trump’s success in the election and how it was achieved.
While it is common for Harvard professors to be asked to work with presidents and candidates, very few from the majority liberal university are expected to be involved with the Trump transition effort. The school as a whole was rocked on Wednesday when the results came in saying that Trump had won the election, with many professors voicing their shock and concern over the outcome.
Aided by his team, President-elect Trump has already begun to assemble his administration and will continue to do so throughout the coming months.
