Loser: Columbia football
The Columbia Lions suffered a devastating 35-10 loss to Penn football on Saturday.
Winner: Philadelphia voices
Voter registration in Philadelphia is currently the highest it’s been in over 30 years, with 1,070,713 registered Philadelphia voters.
Loser: Brother Ross Jackson
One of the preachers who was preaching anti-LGBTQ hate on Locust Walk was arrested for elbowing a student in the face at the University of Georgia.
Winner: Pennsound’s Peter Gizzi
Poet Peter Gizzi has been announced as a finalist for the National Book Award for Poetry. He is a frequent contributor to Pennsound, an archive for poetry recordings.
Loser: Students with financial aid whose parents made less money in 2016 than 2015
Recent changes to the FAFSA mean that only tax returns from 2015 will be taken into account for the 2017-18 school year. For students whose parents made less money in 2016 than 2015, this means that they could get less financial aid than they need.
