Bring out your wands and house robes for a magic-filled weekend.
This weekend thousands of Harry Potter aficionados will congregate at Chestnut Hill to celebrate in festival fashion almost 20 years of the world of wizards. Chestnut Hill College will be hosting their annual two-day Harry Potter festival on Friday, Oct. 21 to Saturday, Oct. 22.
On Friday, 1,000 lucky fans will begin their celebration with the Harry Potter Conference. Tickets have already sold out. Nevertheless, the rest of the public is welcome to attend the Family Movie Night and Pizza Party from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Harry Potter Art Gallery-Opening Reception from 5 to 9 p.m. (refreshments will be provided).
Butterbeer and Bertie Bott's jelly beans will be available on Saturday on Germantown Avenue, six blocks of which will be closed off to cars during the festival, according to Philadelphia Magazine. Throughout the streets, fans will be able to hear a reading of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," find their way through the Triwizard straw maze and take an Instagram-worthy picture of Hedwig's hollow. If you attend, be sure to be on the look out for Harry Potter characters roaming Germantown Avenue!
