Cornell University student Darryl Wu, a member of the class of 2018, was found dead in his Collegetown Center apartment, the Cornell Daily Sun reported. His death appears to have been natural and absent of foul play, the Daily Sun added.
Wu's body was discovered by the apartment complex's staff late afternoon. According to Nathan Lyman, the chief operating officer of the Ithaca Renting Company, Wu appeared to have been dead for several days.
Wu was a chemistry major and was, according to the Daily Sun, "on the winning team of the 12th International Linguistics Olympiad during his freshman year." Cornell's Dean of Arts and Sciences Gretchen Ritter called Wu a “talented student” and “a remarkable linguist and mathematician."
