Teams in the NCAAF Ivy League conference have forged a marketing agreement with NBCSN that includes a six-pack of Friday night games this season. This should be welcome news to Penn football fans and tailgaters who—until now—have been limited to Saturday afternoon kickoff times at Franklin Field.

Though this is a small dive into Friday Night Football for Penn and the Ivy League, it is very possible that teams in the conference will continue scheduling games at key parts of the football season on Friday nights if the deal offers true marketing potential and increased attendance. In any event, the deal should provide more exposure for Ivy League football programs and bring even more talented athletes to the Ivies.

The games agreed upon under the package agreement are already underway and included a home victory for Penn against Yale that took place during Family Weekend on Oct. 23. It was also Penn’s first nationally televised game at Franklin Field.

The Friday Night Football schedule for this season concludes with a Yale-Harvard matchup on Nov. 21.
