A recent report shows that approximately 90 percent of all donations from students, professors, and affiliates of Ivy League universities have gone to democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

This massive majority, totaling in at $248,907, is seconded by democrat Bernie Sanders, who has received a grand total of $18,851. Republican candidates have received almost no Ivy donations, with only four out of fifteen candidates receiving any donations at all; amounting to $13,339 between them.

Although she has seen support from numerous universities, Yale has been Clinton's biggest cash cow. Members and affiliates of the university, where Clinton attended Law school, have raked in nearly half of her overall donations.

Conversely, Sanders has raised a majority from Dartmouth University, typically heralded as one of the more conservative Ivy League institutions, while Columbia has shown the highest donation rates for Republican candidates.

While there are numerous reasons for Clinton's success among the Ivies, she has been the most present candidate on campuses; having made appearances at both Columbia and Yale already.

While all donations from Ivy institutions are merely drops in the buckets of mammoth presidential campaigns, does Hillary's massive donor majority indicate a firm ideological support as well? Some think so, with one Yale sophomore saying "From what I understand, Hillary’s values and Yale’s values are pretty similar in many ways."

Time will tell how voting will pan out, but for now -- Hillary Clinton can count on the Ivies to have her back come 2016.
