After a series of problems with the Common Application, eighty-three schools are coming together to create a new joint college application website that will serve as an alternative to the Common App — and Penn will be a part of it.
The new application website, offered through the Coalition for Access, Affordability and Success, aims to attract a greater number of lower income and underrepresented and will allow students to upload projects they've worked on throughout their high school years to create an inventory of their work. Most schools using this new application website will still accept applications through the Common Application portal.
So far, schools such as Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Duke, and Tufts have signed on to use the new application website. Applications will begin being accepted in summer 2016.

Correction: A previous version of this article stated that Penn was not part of the coalition. The DP regrets this error.
