Taline King, a Drexel freshman, was found dead in her dorm room on Saturday, an email from Drexel President John A. Fry confirmed. She was 18 years old.
University Police and Philadelphia Police both confirmed no evidence of foul play, according to the email.
King was enrolled in the College of Computing and Informatics and lived in Myers Hall.
A Drexel freshman who lives in Myers Hall and asked to remain anonymous said that approximately five police cars arrived at the residence hall Saturday morning. She said the cars arrived before she woke up at 12:30 p.m. Members of the residence hall were informed of King’s passing at 4 p.m. During the day, the hall remained unusually quiet as residents questioned what happened.
In the fall of 2011, King was reported missing at 15 years old. She attended Moorestown High School in New Jersey at the time. She left over a dispute with her parents, according to The Central Record, a local South Jersey publication.
