Ariel Koren, president of the Class of 2015, was selected to represent Penn as part of MSNBC's Women in Politics: College Edition series meant to highlight female leaders in student government across universities in the country.

Koren's interview ranges from questions about which female leaders inspire her to whether or not she will run for office.

In response to what her biggest challenge as a leader at Penn is, Koren explains that her biggest challenge as a female leader in particular has been "figuring out how to find the balance between celebrating [her] identity as a woman with being an effective leader in general." She emphasizes the class of 2015's diversity and the "exciting challenge" it has been to be able to find ways to "be a voice for everyone."

When asked what is the best piece of professional advice she has ever received, Koren cites motivational speaker Chade-Meng, who advised her on the importance of vulnerability. "His advice to me lay in the concept that being vulnerable isn't mutually exclusive with being powerful, but rather vulnerability is inherently powerful," Koren said.
