Due to a forecasted snowstorm, a number of events scheduled at the University for Wednesday evening and Thursday have been canceled.
All on-campus interviews and employer information sessions on Thursday have been cancelled, Director of Career Services Patricia Rose said. Some employers will do phone or Skype interviews or will reschedule for a later date.
"Sounds of Silence: Intelligence and Digital Listening in the Information Age," an event featuring NSA Director of Research Michael Wertheimer, planned for Thursday, was postponed. The event was sponsored by the Year of Sound and the International Relations program. According to the Year of Sound website, the event will be rescheduled for a later date.
Due to "weather-based travel cancelations," the Kelly Writers House canceled an bilingual reading event with authors Benito Del Pliego and Lina Meruane. According to an email sent to the Writers House listserv, the event may be rescheduled.
Thursday's "Sensible Nonsense" event, where six speakers are to discuss their favorite children's books, at the Writers House will only be canceled if the University is closed.
The University had not responded to requests for comment about the possibility of class cancellations tomorrow as of 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Philadelphia region is expected to receive six to 10 inches of snow by Thursday morning, according to AccuWeather. Temple and La Salle universities have both already announced the cancellation of Thursday classes.
