The Queer Student Alliance is hosting its annual welcoming event, “The Gay Affair,” at 8:30 p.m. this evening. As with previous years, crowds of students are expected to gather at the LGBT Center — located at 3907 Spruce St. — to enjoy food and drink, make new friends and learn more about QSA.
Because this event is open to all Penn undergraduates, College junior and QSA Chair Juan Gomez is expecting attendance from a mixture of freshmen and upperclassmen who are interested in the organization. “I’m interested in seeing all the new faces and welcoming them and welcoming the old faces,” he said.
In anticipation of the event, which is meant to have a party-like atmosphere, The Daily Pennsylvanian collaborated with QSA to create a list of what to expect at “The Gay Affair.”
-Candles – “To create that warm environment.”
-Ice – “But not too warm….”
-Music – “Literally Beyoncé.”
-Cheese Platter – “It’s not an Ivy League event without a cheese platter, am I right or am I right?”
-Mocktails – “No explanation necessary.”
