Penn’s four Class Boards, Penn Traditions and the Penn Hindu Students Council have come together to introduce a new tradition to campus.
Penn Holi — inspired by the Hindu spring festival — will make its debut on College Green tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
The free event will offer students an opportunity to celebrate the coming of spring and splatter colorful powder on each other.
Holi is an ancient Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring. It is celebrated widely throughout India as well as in Indian communities across the globe.
“We’re thrilled about making this beautiful and enthralling festival a new part of the Penn
experience,” Sophomore Class Board President Ariel Koren said in a press release. “It is a celebration of diversity and togetherness.”
Penn Masti and Penn Dhamaka will also give performances at the event, and Penn Student Agencies will provide free Rita’s Water Ice.
