A man has been charged for allegedly raping a woman on 40th Street on July 6.
Last Friday at 1:40 a.m., a woman reported being physically and sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance at 419 South 40th Street. The man was arrested by Penn Police and is now in prison on State Road, said Lieutenant Anthony McFadden of the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit.
The man faces multiple charges, including rape, aggravated assault, simple assault and related offenses. The preliminary hearing is pending.
Penn’s Division of Public Safety confirmed that neither victim nor perpetrator were affiliated with the University.
