I am disappointed that the University has chosen to allocate funds toward something as superfluous as a dining hall in the Quadrangle (“Penn to expand dining in Quad, Commons,” 2/18/2011). We are facing a nationwide epidemic of obesity. The notion that Quad residents are incapable of walking two extra blocks to 1920 Commons or Hill is absurd. Students at other universities routinely walk many blocks to get to dining halls and, frankly, they are better off as a result.
