Philadelphia's preeminent restauranteur Stephen Starr will open a new Mexican restaurant this April.
The restaurant, which Starr announced will be named El Rey, will feature homemade traditional food from "Puebla to Veracruz" in a "gritty-looking roadside bar setting," Starr told Philly.com today.
Starr, who owns Pod on Penn's campus, has 13 other restaurants in the city. He is known for unique decor and distinct menu themes.
El Rey will be located at 2013 Chestnut St. Dionico Jimenez will serve as head chef.
