The new semester brought with it one addition and one subtraction to the men’s basketball roster.
Senior Drew Godwin, a 6-2 senior from Yardley, Pa., suited up for the varsity squad for the first time against UMBC. He previously played for the junior varsity team.
On Monday, freshman Carson Sullivan was removed from the roster. Sullivan played 34 minutes over six games this season, scoring six points on 1-for-7 shooting to go along with six rebounds, an assist and a steal.
The 6-foot-3 Charlotte native was the first member of the Class of 2013 to commit to Penn. He had been receiving interest from 20 schools before suffering a knee injury the summer before his senior year.
“It had nothing to do with the coaching staff or anything like that,” Sullivan explained. “It was more a personal decision as far as finding a better situation for me closer to home where I can hopefully play more and contribute.”
