This weekend, The Daily Pennsylvanian inaugurated the 126th Board of Editors and Managers at our annual banquet. The event gave us the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our predecessors.

For the members of the Board, the change in leadership marks an opportunity to reshape an organization and a newspaper that has been an institution on this campus for over a century.

Last year’s board strove to listen to the campus and to publish a newspaper that wasn’t just Penn’s paper but your paper. This year, we’re going to do more than just listen.

The DP will be building its presence on campus and connecting with students in new ways. If students are there, we will be too. And we will be reporting, blogging, photographing, videographing, Tweeting — you name it.

Part of this effort is about rethinking the way we publish content, both in print and online. News will be presented in a way that is most meaningful to you, whether through print graphics or online multimedia. We aim to give you what you want to read, and in the process, to transform thedp.com into the place you go to procrastinate.

But we want to do more than just record what you’re doing. We want to get inside your head. You will have more venues than ever before to interact with the stories you read. Talk to us about what you’re reading. Comment online. Follow us on Twitter. We’re here, and we want to know what you’re thinking.
