Many would say New Student Orientation is the most fun week of the school year. The 2013 Class Board wants to relive it in January.
The Board will bring a brand new event for freshmen called NSOver Again from Jan. 22 to 24, according to 2013 Class President and Wharton freshman Jonathon Youshaei.
Each day of the weekend will feature different activities. Saturday night, members of the Class of 2013 can attend the annual Freshman Formal, where the theme will be “The Freshman Prince of Bel-Air.”
The theme will allow students to mix the formal aspects of Bel-Air with the hip-hop style of Will Smith in their attire, Youshaei said.
In addition to the Freshman Formal, on Saturday afternoon all freshmen will be given 40 percent off haircuts and nail services at the Saturn Club Hiar Salon on Sansom Street.
Sunday’s activity will be Boogie on Blades, which will include music and ice skating at the Class of 1923 Ice Rink.
Youshaei said events have been tentatively planned for Friday, but have not been finalized.
The event was one of Youshaei’s central campaign promises. He said the goal of the weekend is to allow freshmen to bond and meet new people.
“Who knows, your life long friend could be out there in the 2,500,” Youshaei said. “At the end of the day, there are still so many more people to meet, and it’s our job to make that happen.”
He added that the Board wanted these events to be so big that NSOver Again will become a new tradition that will continue for years to come.
