College sophomore Alex Ryles died Sunday, University spokeswoman Lori Doyle confirmed.
Ryles’ parents have been notified and were en route to Philadelphia as of Sunday night, according to Doyle. No further details about the circumstances of his death were available Sunday night.
An Urban Studies major, Ryles attended The Menlo School in his hometown of Atherton, Calif. He also contributed to 34th Street Magazine.
According to his Facebook page, Ryles was 19 years old and would have turned 20 this Saturday, Nov. 28.
The Division of Public Safety declined to comment on Ryles’ passing.

A community gathering will be held today in Houston Hall's Ben Franklin room at 1 p.m.
