SEPTA has just made traveling in Philadelphia cheaper, faster and easier.
In a press release, SEPTA announced that it will introduce a "One Day Independence Pass" and a "Family Independence Pass," which will be available for use on trains, trolleys and buses.
According to the release, the passes will provide riders with the "independence of convenient, economical and unlimited travel on all SEPTA trains."
The One Day Independence Pass will cost $10 per person, while the Family Independence Pass will cost $25.
The passes, which can be purchased in advance, "are ideal for the occasional riders, visitors and families traveling on SEPTA to their favorite restaurant, shopping locations, sports events or other attractions in Philadelphia," the release said.
The pass is only activated when the month and date are punched by a SEPTA operator, cashier or conductor.
Still, Penn students are not sure this new initiative will be beneficial to them.
"I don't think it's convenient for students, because I don't think they use $10 worth of SEPTA a day," College junior Elise Miller said.
SEPTA officials were unavailable for comment.
