Last week, Penn announced that the much-anticipated updates to Penn InTouch will take place over the summer.
The best part about this announcement of the long-overdue makeover - which will modernize the interface of the current layout - is the timeliness of the process. It's been two years since officials first announced their intent to revamp the system, and while that seems like a lifetime to a college student, it's a fairly quick turnaround given the number of offices that were involved in the process.
The new system's development was also expedited by the preview of the new Course Selection tool, which gave students a glimpse of how the new system will look and feel - not to mention it proved immensely helpful through this year's period of advanced registration.
We can't wait to see the rest of the new design.
To the Drexel Community
Yesterday, our neighbors at Drexel announced that their president, Constantine Papadakis, passed away Sunday.
During his 14 years at Drexel, Papadakis was the driving force behind the school's transformation into a well-known regional institution, adding law and medical schools. He was active in the Philadelphia business community as well, a result of his years at Bechtel Corp.
His influence on the school and Philadelphia will continue for many years, and our hearts go out to Drexel in its time of mourning.
