Earlier this week, Lynn Marsden-Atlass was appointed director of the Arthur Ross Gallery, effective March 3.
Marsden-Atlass previously served as the Senior Curator of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
"This is a great day for Penn's arts and culture community," said University Provost Ron Daniels. "We are indeed fortunate to welcome to Penn a nationally known curator and educator with [Marsden-Atlass'] remarkable range of experience."
Prior to her work at PAFA, Marsden-Atlass served as the curator of American and Contemporary Art at the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA. She also acted as the associate director and Registrar of the Colby College Museum of Art, in addition to work as a consultant and advisor to private art collections around the country.
She earned an MA in Art History from the University of Chicago and a BA in Art History from Lake Forest College.
