After a long summer, The Daily Pennsylvanian is back.

Last semester, hopefully you noticed our efforts to reach out and learn more about what readers want from the DP. Those efforts proved largely successful as dozens of students attended our monthly Open Forums and shared their comments and concerns.

We appreciated your feedback and we'll continue to hold monthly Open Forums. Taking the time to share your thoughts with us means a better paper for you.

We've devoted much of the summer to making our Web site, dailypennsylvanian.com, more streamlined and user-friendly. With those goals in mind we've launched a brand new site with all sorts of interactive features.

The new dailypennsylvanian.com is more than just an electronic version of the DP; it's loaded with features to keep you logged on even after you've finished reading the paper. Our Breaking News feature is more prominent and feature stories have been enhanced with audio slideshows and photo galleries.

We've also handpicked a new and talented group of bloggers to write for the Spin, the fast-growing DP opinion blog. And for the first time we'll have themed bloggers to cover everything from finance to sex. Seriously. Don't miss it.

As I'm sure you've figured out by now, expanding our Web site is going to be one of our priorities this semester, but don't think we've forgotten about the daily.

There's going to be plenty to write about, especially with the approaching trials of Irina Malinovskaya and Rafael Robb. You can count on the DP for in-depth coverage of those cases as well as Penn's historic eastward expansion into the postal lands.

So pick up a copy of the DP, visit dailypennsylvanian.com, and tell us what you think.

See you at Open Forum.
