Penn's Division of Public Safety has released a traffic advisory due to ongoing construction on the Annenberg School for Communication.

Lane closures near the construction site began Wednesday morning.

The closures are expected to last between two and three weeks.

Lanes will be closed between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, on Walnut Street between 34th and 36th streets and on 36th Street between Walnut and Sansom streets.

In order to create two open lanes for moving traffic, no vehicles will be permitted to park in these areas.

DPS plans to have extra personnel on site to help aid with traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

Officials are also encouraging motorists to expect delays in their commute through this area, and to schedule extra commute time accordingly.

Construction on Annenberg includes utility work performed by JPC Construction Company that requires the lane closures.

Renovations and construction currently dot Penn's campus.

Ongoing projects include the construction of the new Radian apartments on Walnut and 37th streets, expecting to be complete by next fall, and the Nursing Education Building on Curie Boulevard.
