Theft Mar. 22 - A female staff member, 55, reported that someone removed SEPTA tokens and cash from her unsecured desk in Penn Connect, located at 300 S. 33rd St., at about 10 a.m. Mar. 21 - An AlliedBarton security guard reported that an unsecured bicycle was removed from the 3600 block of Chestnut Street at about 2:40 a.m. Mar. 20 - A staff member, 29, reported that someone removed a computer from a room in the College of General Studies, located at 3440 Market St., at about 1:15 p.m. Mar. 19 - Zaki Bingham, 52, of the 4200 block of Westminster Street, was detained by security after trying to leave the Penn Bookstore, located at 3601 Walnut St., without paying for an item, at about 2:50 p.m. Mar. 18 - A male student, 20, reported that an unknown suspect removed his computer and other electronic devices from his house on the 4000 block of Spruce Street at about 3:30 a.m. Mar. 18 - A male student, 21, reported that the rear window of his vehicle, which was left on the 200 block of S. 41st Street, had been broken. A toolbox and money of unknown value had been removed. Mar. 17 - A female staff member, 27, reported that her cell phone was taken from her unsecured vehicle on the 3900 block of Irving Street at about 1:00 p.m. Mar. 16 - A female complainant, 36 and unaffiliated with the University, reported that her wallet was removed from her unsecured bag in the Presbyterian Hospital, located at 51 N. 39th St, at about 1:00 p.m. Mar. 22 - Anthony Parillo, 25, of Doylestown, Pa., was detained by security at the Penn Bookstore for allegedly trying to leave without paying. He attempted to flee but was apprehended by police. Fraud Mar. 20 - A female student, 19, reported that she lost her credit card at the Penn Bookstore at about 11:30 a.m. The card was used to make purchases at several other locations.
