College senior Aaron Weissman won't be on the Undergraduate Assembly any more.

Weissman has missed more than 25 percent of required meetings, the maximum number members are allowed to skip. He has decided not to appeal the decision to remove him from the UA.

College sophomore Ben Cirlin - who received the highest number of votes of those not elected to the UA last spring - will become the newest UA member if he is still interested in the job.

Reached last night, Cirlin said he heard formally about the open position, but said he'd consider taking it.

"It's something I haven't really thought about," Cirlin said. "But I'll definitely think about it."

Cirlin currently serves as the treasurer for the Class of 2009.

If Cirlin declines to join the body, the next-highest vote getters - College junior Ash Bhumbla and College sophomore Brandon Paroly - will have the chance to accept a UA spot.

n Collaboration is key to school spirit, according to UA member and Engineering sophomore Tommy Lumpkin.

Lumpkin spearheaded a proposal aimed at increasing collaboration between the Athletics Department and the class boards.

Specifically, the proposal - which was passed unanimously - "calls on the Athletic Department to . organize a Midnight madness event for fall of 2007."

"We want more options of what to do on Fridays and Saturdays," Lumpkin said, "so [people] . can stay on campus and root for the team."

n The UA also recapped the Ivy Council Fall Conference, held at Princeton University.

During the conference, delegates from all the Ivy League schools came together to discuss topics of interest.

The Penn delegates noted, among other things, that both Brown University and Princeton's presidents have walk-in hours for students, Cornell University has dining halls open until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m., and Princeton and Harvard and Yale universities are 100-percent need-blind regardless of citizenship.
