Junior Jason Pinsky won the A-Flight at the Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational tennis tournament yesterday in Princeton, N.J., according to Penn head coach Mark Riley.
Freshman Adam Schwartz lost in the consolation match.
Other top Quakers, including senior Mikhail Bekker, took the weekend off to allow the freshmen on the team to get some playing time.
"Four freshmen got their first college experience today," Riley said. "The real reason we played was to get [the freshmen] some experience before the ECAC Championship."
The Quakers are the defending champion at the ECAC's, and will attempt to defend their title this weekend in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
"It's going to be a new experience for us," Riley said.
