Social networking site Facebook.com - long accessible only to college and high school students - will soon open its doors to everyone.
Originally only available to Harvard University students, Facebook expanded quickly to schools around the country. Information on students' profiles, however, was only available to those deemed "friends" and other students at the same school.
But, as the Associated Press and USA Today reported late last night, that will no longer be the case: Anyone with a valid e-mail address will be able to join Facebook. Students who attach a geographic area to their profile will be allowing any other member in that area - which may include cities, states and the nation - to view their profile.
